The InfoCube is located at the place where the highest 3S cableway in the world leads up to the Klein Matterhorn. At Trockener Steg, 2939 metres above sea level. Whatever the weather, 365 days a year.

Set off on an exciting journey of discovery with the aid of VR glasses, touchscreens, multimedia and interactive displays. From the first connection to the Klein Matterhorn to the commissioning of the Matterhorn Glacier Ride I and the vision of the "Matterhorn Alpine Crossing".

Matterhorn Alpine Crossing - The Project

The first stage of the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing– the Matterhorn Glacier Ride I from Trockener Steg to Klein Matterhorn has been finished since the winter of 2018/19. The construction phase took around two-and-a-half years and because of the high-alpine location involved the use of helicopters instead of diggers.

3S cableways combine the most advanced technology with the highest safety standards and greatest ride comfort. They offer numerous advantages over conventional circulating cableways, ensuring a more stable ride in high winds and providing increased carrying capacity and greater driving speed.

The modern installation was just the first stage in the realization of a much more far-reaching vision: to create a continuous connection between Zermatt and Italy, the so-called “Matterhorn-Alpine-Crossing”. This will be made possible by the addition of a structurally similar 3S cableway between Testa Grigia and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. In spring 2023, the first visitors should be able to make the highest crossing of the Alps.

The passable floor plan will give you a vivid impression of the dimensions of this major project. All construction challenges included.
