MoreVision OF the"aLPINE X"
The construction of the world’s highest 3S cableway to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise was just the first stage in the realization of a much more far-reaching vision: to create a continuous cableway connection between Zermatt and Italy – the so-called “Alpine X”. This will be made possible by the addition of another structurally similar 3S cableway which is already under construction and is intended to link Testa Grigia and the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. In autumn 2022, visitors should be able to travel from Zermatt to Cervinia (or vice versa), the highest crossing in the Alps, without having to get their boots wet in the snow – all under the watchful eye of the Matterhorn!
