“En Güete” in Europe's highest mountain restaurant. The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise restaurant is at the astonishing altitude of 3'883 metres. You can easily imagine the stunning view through the panorama windows while you’re enjoying your meal: the crème de la crème of Swiss Alpine peaks are gathered all round the Klein Matterhorn, on which the restaurant stands along with the highest mountain station in Europe.

Whether you’re enjoying breakfast on the mountain, a homemade supper, Valais specialities from the pan, burgers, pasta or the daily choice of desserts and dishes – the menu of the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise restaurant has something for everybody. The building was renovated in 2013. It has seating for 60, wheelchair access and conforms to the highest environmental standards. The menu offers international dishes alongside Swiss specialities. You need to charge up your energy levels to take on all the adventures awaiting outside. If you want to get some regional souvenirs first, you’ll find a choice in the adjoining Peak Shop.

When you leave the mountain restaurant, you have a genuine paradise at your feet: the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. All around Europe’s highest mountain station, there are potentially record-breaking experiences awaiting visitors. The highest viewing platform in the Alps for example, with a 360º panorama of 38 four-thousand-metre peaks and 14 glaciers in three countries. The highest glacier palace and the cinema lounge are also close by.

Environmentally friendly delights
The building’s energy concept was developed by Zermatt Bergbahnen AG and is regarded internationally as a model of its kind. The proof: multiple awards for cutting-edge environmental standards.

- Photovoltaic system on the south façade produces enough energy to cover the building’s heating, ventilation and lighting requirements for the entire year – Swiss and European solar prizes.
