High, higher, Zermatt Snow Park! The fun park on the Theodul Glacier is one of the highest and most popular in the Alps. Together with the Summer Snow Park in Zermatt, it offers snowboarders and freeride skiers an arena to show off their skills on more than 300 days of the year – there’s nowhere like it. No wonder the Swiss glacier park is one Europe’s freestyle hotspots.
P.S.: You can often spot top professional freeskiers and snowboarders on the Theodul Glacier.
WINTER ACTION IN THE GLACIER PARK
In winter the Zermatt Snow Park can be found on the lower part of the Theodul Glacier, close by the Furgsattel Gletscherbahn at a bracing altitude of 3'250 metres. You get there from Zermatt by taking the new Matterhorn Glacier Ride (3S cableway), the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car or the Furggsattel chairlift. Zermatt’s Winter Fun Park is open from October to mid-May.
Facts and figures: Over a length of 1'200 metres, the six creative lines for all skill levels will get the heart of every freestyler beating faster. The long lines, cool obstacles, smooth transitions, plus the extraordinary view, brilliant sunshine and – thanks to the glacier – perfect natural snow conditions make every sesh pure pleasure.
Young and old winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to an action-packed and fun downhill run. In the Snowpark Zermatt there is a Funslope, which has a lot to offer for beginners and advanced skiers. Tunnels, hills, small jumps, rapid steep face curves and all kinds of obstacles can be skied on the creative route. So tighten your ski boots and off you go.
